Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell for Indoor Applications: A Mini-Review

Abstract Lightweight computing technologies such as the Internet of Things and flexible wearable systems have penetrated our everyday lives exponentially in recent years. Without a question, running electronic devices is major energy problem. Generally, these need power within range microwatts operate mostly indoors. Thus, it appropriate to self-sustainable source, photovoltaic (PV) cell, which can harvest indoor light. Among other PV cells, dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) has immense capacity satisfy demands most electronics, making very attractive candidates because its many benefits readily available materials, relatively cheap manufacturing methods, roll-to-roll compatibility, easy processing capabilities on substrates exceptional diffuse/low-light performance. This review discusses developments DSSC materials for applications. Ultimately, perspective this topic presented after summing up current progress research. Graphic abstract
